The Fountain of Love Choir embarked on a tour to Essen, western Germany, from September 3 to 12, 2014, at the invitation of the Chaldean Iraqi community there and the Latin Diocese of the city.
The choir held four concerts in different German cities. The first evening took place at St. Heribert Church in Cologne, home to the largest Gothic cathedral in Europe. The second concert was at the Church of the Body of Christ in Essen, the third at the Immaculate Conception Church in Essen, and the final evening at St. Matthew Church in Altina. During these events, which received coverage in the German press, the choir performed a variety of hymns in Arabic, Chaldean, and German, accompanied by spiritual reflections.
The Fountain of Love Choir also performed hymns during the solemn celebratory Mass presided over by Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako, Patriarch of Babylon for the Chaldeans, for peace in Iraq and the Middle East, in the presence of the city’s Archbishop, who subsequently invited the choir to Brussels, along with a gathering of Iraqi officials, in the Belgian city of Antwerp.
The choir also visited The Hague in the Netherlands and the North Sea and filmed a music video for the hymn “How I Wish” in Essen, Germany.
